The most technologically advanced mirrors in the world

Our *Driver?s Dream* Safety Convex Mirrors offer advanced capabilities without the distortion of other mirrors.  They will :

  • Eliminatethe driver?s BLIND SPOTS on any vehicle or equipment.
  • At a minimum, will double the driver?s viewing area.
  • Helpdrivers be more aware of their surroundings.
  • Will not block the bottom of the factory west coast mirrors.
  • Stopthe elements being forced up onto the factory west coast mirrors.
  • Keepthe trailers in view up to a 90 degree jack knife in both directions.

Installation

Our mirrors can be mounted in either a vertical or horizontal position. Due to the many vehicle types and specifications, we leave the final installation and adjustment of the mirrors to the individual requirement of the purchaser and the operator.

Adjustment

The operator of the vehicle should be in the driver?s seat.
Loosen the three screws on the back of the mirror to allow adjusting.
The driver?s side should just show the side of the vehicle in the right corner.
The blind side should just show the side of the vehicle in the left corner.
The upper edge of the mirror should just catch the horizon.
You should not be able to see the tree tops down the road.

IMPORTANT: After the mirrors are properly adjusted, it is important to tighten the 3 screws on the back of the mirror by hand.  DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN OR USE POWER TOOLS.

BLIND SPOTS

Almost every large vehicle has blind spots in the rear view mirror systems. The current factory installed mirror design requires the operator to turn their head sideways during maneuvers or lane changing. This situation can, in itself, create blind spots as their eyes are not on the road. They could miss seeing obstacles, vehicles or the changing patterns ahead.

The average factory round convex mirror that is added does not provide a large enough field of view. To cure this problem, some companies manufactured a larger size convex mirror, which in turn created a bigger blind spot by the mirror itself. These same larger convex mirrors produce a great deal of distortion and it is difficult for the operator to get a true picture.

Our *Driver?s Dream* Safety Convex Mirrors are made of wide angle BDS glass that is cut to create a larger field of vision and eliminate distortion. The picture you see is larger than what is seen in most round convex mirrors resulting in a clearer view. They are excellent for any vehicle requirements including inside or outside any model of bus, highway coach, equipment and even buildings.

*DRIVER?S DREAM*

Our products are available in the following models.

6 X 9 inches-Heated and Non Heated with Wide Angle Glass
9 X 9 inches-Heated or Non Heated with Regular Glass.
Extendable arm system for carriers who haul extra wide loads.  They can be installed or removed in minutes.  Both models of mirrors can be used with this arm system.
Add on arm product line that allows our mirrors to be installed on almost every model of vehicle.  They are also adaptable for twin factory arms or single factory Vel Vac systems found on most ambulance models.
Double Chromed fender tripods with added strength at installation points.

Our mirrors are manufactured from stainless steel and the glass is coated on the back to stop fragmentation if broken. The glass can be replaced so the unit is no longer a throw away.  We have been GREEN for many years and our mirrors are great for budgets and the environment.

The mirrors can be installed on any existing tripod or support arm and can give the operator a wide angle view of almost 90 degrees into the third lane of traffic with no distortion. Our mirrors are especially important when changing lanes or reversing.

On tractor trailers, the operator never loses the trailer in a reverse jack knife up to 90 degrees in either direction. The results are the same regardless of what side the mirror is mounted on or what type of vehicle, however; it is recommended that they be installed in sets for best results.

The application of our mirrors is for any vehicle or equipment where the operator absolutely must see the complete picture and what is happening around the unit at all times. Because of the overall viewing angle they are also excellent for inside buses, highway coaches and even buildings.

Many of our customers are adding our mirrors to the specifications for new equipment from their dealerships.  We are currently working with several Kenworth, Peterbilt, International, Freightliner and Sterling-Western Star dealleships as well as Mack Corporate.

TRACTOR INSTALLATION

This picture shows the type of view that comes from our *Driver?s Dream* Safety Convex Mirror when it is mounted on a highway tractor.  The vehicles shown in the mirror were almost five trailer lengths back from the test tractor and could easily be seen from the operator's seat. This represents a viewing area of almost 90 degrees into the third lane of traffic with no distortion. If the *Driver?s Dream* Safety Convex Mirror is installed on a fender or hood mount, the operator can see an obstacle directly in front of, immediately beside the vehicle as well as all the way back the vehicle.

QUAD AXLE DUMP INSTALLATION.

The vehicle was equipped with a factory installed flat west coast mirror and an 8 inch factory installed normal convex mirror mounted under the flat mirror. There was also an 8 inch factory installed convex mirror on the fender tripod.

The field of vision from the centre of the rear drive axle was:

  • 2 feet with the factory installed flat west coast mirror. See tape one.
  • 18 feet with the normal factory installed convex mirror. See tape two.
  • 22 feet with the factory installed fender mount convex. See tape three.
  • 70 feetwith the *Driver,s Dream* Safety Convex Mirror. See tape four.
  • There are no blind spots along the entire side of the vehicle.
  • The extreme right corner of the front blade is visible. See tape four.
  • The underbelly scrape blade is also visible in our mirror.

TRANSIT BUS INSTALLATION (A)

This vehicle was equipped with a factory installed 9 X 10 inch flat mirror and a factory installed 4 X 7 inch convex mirror. The field of vision from the centre of the rear axle was:

  • 5 feet with the factory installed flat mirror. See cone one.
  • 13 feet with the factory installed convex mirror. See cone two.
  • 70 feet plus with the *Driver?s Dream* Safety Convex Mirror. See vehicle in picture.

A large garbage container was placed at the front doors and the operator could not see it in either factory installed mirrors. A safety cone was added to the top of the container and the operator saw only the top of the cone in the same factory mirrors. When we installed the *Driver?s Dream* Safety Convex Mirror, the operator could see the complete container and cone as well as the ground in front of the container. Because of the wide angle of view they are also excellent for internal use especially on low floor models. The operator can see into the step well, all the way back the unit and directly behind the operator.

TRANSIT BUS INSTALLATION (B)

The same vehicle showing the field of vision out from the centre of the rear axle.

  • 5 feet with the factory installed flat mirror. See first cone.
  • 13 feet with the factory installed convex mirror. See second cone
  • 70 feet plus with the Driver's Dream Safety Convex Mirror. See third cone.
This picture shows the same transit vehicle and the great viewing angle when our *Driver?s Dream* Safety Convex Mirror is installed. You can see from the picture that the viewing area with our mirror installed is greatly enhanced. The operator can see the exit and entry doors where passengers stand to board or exit the vehicle. Because of the wide angle of view they are excellent for internal use especially on the new low floor models. If installed internally near the door area, the operator can see into the stepwell, behind the operator seat and all the way back the coach.
